The Atlanta Sports
Hall of Fame's Heritage Award
Created in 2007, the Atlanta Sports Hall Of
Fame's Heritage Award is designed to recognize an individual, team
and/or event that is/are significant and/or memorable in Atlanta's
sports history, or who have made a significant contribution to
Atlanta and it's sports legacy.
The award is not limited to individuals who have
already been inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame (for
instance, Henry Aaron is enshrined in the Hall, but he could still
be nominated, for example, for hitting home run No. 715 on April
8, 1974). The award is also open to anyone who has not yet
been nominated for or enshrined in the Hall, or who (or may not)
be, in the future.
Winners for the award will be chosen by members
of the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame's Advisory Committee.
Nominations for the award may be given by members of the Atlanta
Sports Hall of Fame Advisory Board, as well as the Honors Court.
