1954 Crackers Reunion
September 20 & 21, 2004
The Atlanta Sports Hall
Of Fame hosted a reception at the Holiday Inn Select for the 1954
Atlanta Crackers on Monday, Sept 20. The Braves 400 Club then held
a luncheon to honor the 1954 Team on Tuesday, with Furman Bisher
as the host. The Cracker Team also got a behind the scenes tour of
Turner Field, participated in a ceremonial magnolia tree planting
in the Braves Plaza, and were recognized at the Reds/Braves game
on Monday night. Joel Alterman was the "fan" who thought of the
idea for the reunion and worked with the Braves and the Braves 400
Club to organize the event.
We would like to thank
Carolyn Serra and Nancy Erickson with the Braves, author Tim
Darnell, Johnny Tallant with the Braves 400 Club, and David
Rosenberg with the Holiday Inn Select for all of their help and
support. The reunion and all of it's great activities would not be
possible without them.
